Utah lands potential sleeper

At Utah, the coaching staff hasn't been afraid to roll the dice and look to develop late-blooming prospects. The Utes added another on Thursday night when three-star wing Josh Conley committed.
Originally a member of the class of 2015 who came on strong during his senior season at Inglewood (Calif.) High, Conley was a late qualifier who elected to attend prep school after a big summer with Los Angeles-based Pump 'N Run and the H Squad.

Now attending LaGrange (Ga.) Sound Doctrine for a year of prep, the 6-foot-6 wing committed to Utah after a weekend visit to Salt Lake City where he received a scholarship offer after convincing Larry Krystkowiak of his upside.
Long and athletic, Conley is a junkyard dog who claws and scraps for everything that he can get. He slashes to the rim in transition, is pretty good at creating for himself via the dribble and is a good enough shooter that defenders can't forget about him in space. Because of his quickness, long arms and fast hands, Conley holds big potential on the defensive end of the floor.
Conley will have to get stronger and he will have to continue to build off his strong finish last season and in the summer. Long-term, he has shown enough to be one of those kids who sneaks up and outperforms initial expectations.
Conley is the fourth member of the Utes' 2016 recruiting class. He joins four-star big man Jayce Johnson, three-star utility wing Devon Daniels and three-star junior college point guard Jojo Zamora.
