USA Red takes Bronze

The USA Red squad bounced back from a lopsided semifinal loss to the USA Blue squad to post a convincing 92-77 win over Russia to take the Bronze Medal of the International Sports Invitational in San Diego, Calif. Bouncing back himself from two disappointing performances, Daequan Cook led the Red squad with 28 points.
Cook made 12 of his 23 shots from the field, including 1 of 2 from three, and made 3 out of 4 free throw attempts. He also snagged 8 rebounds.

Also grabbing 8 rebounds, Gerald Henderson scored 18 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field and 8 of 8 shooting from the free throw line.
The Red squad also got some production from center Brook Lopez, who scored 13 points on 5 of 7 shooting from the field and 3 of 5 shooting from the line and grabbed 5 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.
Tom Herzog blocked 3 shots and scored 5 points.
Bryan Davis scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Jeremiah Rivers scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Stanley Robinson scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
D.J. Augustin scored 6 points and grabbed 3 rebounds.
Damion James scored 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Jon Scheyer went scoreless and grabbed 1 rebound.
The pressure of the Red defense forced Russia to play at an uncomfortable speed, forcing 27 turnovers to 15 assists and keeping Russia to 35 percent shooting.
The Red squad again suffered turnover problems themselves, turning the ball over 23 times with only 12 assists.
Leading the team in turnovers was Davis with 5, James with 4 and Rivers with 4. Scheyer was the only player not to turn the ball over.
James led the team in assists with 4 and Augustin had 3 assists.
