USA BBall: Moses Brown sees two Pac-12 schools pursue

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Moses Brown remains one of the top prospects available in the 2018 class, and while he has led a relatively lightly prioritized recruitment compared to his elite peers, things are now beginning to ramp up. Following September visits to Louisville and Maryland, Brown has set a third official visit with another Pac-12 program keeping tabs.

A 7-foot center with tremendous upside and excellent mobility for his size, Brown has had a good few moments in Colorado Springs at the United States Basketball Trials.

After visiting Louisville and Maryland last month, the New Yorker updated his recruitment.

“I scheduled a visit to UCLA on October 28. A lot of schools are involved, but my recruitment isn’t closed,” he said. “I haven’t cut anything down yet.”

Brown went on to confirm that Louisville, following the FBI investigation into the program, is no longer in the mix, before speaking on a few that are.

Maryland: “They have been recruiting me for a while. They have still been recruiting me hard and they are just really close with me and my family.”

UCLA: “They are a pretty good school with a pretty good offense. If I go there, I know that is going to be an offense built around me and they offer me the type of system that I like.”

California: “It is in a good school in Silicon Valley. The coaches have been showing a lot of love just texting me every day with some motivational stuff. I could take a visit to go out there.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Brown will head to UCLA on October 28 for his third official visit. When it comes to deciding early this fall and signing in November or waiting until the spring, Brown seems more than patient in playing the process out.

“I am just going to take my time with my recruitment and see what happens,” he said.

RIVALS' REACTION

In the race for the high-upside five-star center prospect in the 2018 class, Maryland is the program to beat now that Louisville is out of the picture. However, a good visit to UCLA in a few weeks could place the Bruins in the driver’s seat for his commitment, a pledge that could lead to an early signing next month.
