COLORADO SPRINGS – Make no mistake about it, class of 2020 shooting guard Jalen Green didn't head to USA Basketball's 16U National Team tryouts to not shoot the ball. There shouldn't be a problem with it either because he makes most of them and is easily one of the purest scorers in his class nationally.

Standing about 6-foot-4 of all long arms and legs, Green is an explosive athlete with range on his jumper, the handle to create and an aggressive nature on the offensive end.

"I'm just always in the gym working on my game," Green told Rivals.com. "My dad has taught me not to be soft and he doesn't let me slack when I'm playing."

Even though he's just finishing up his freshman year of high school, Green is already well known to college coaches. Hometown Fresno State, Florida State, UNLV, Creighton, USC, Arizona, Washington, Villanova and San Diego State are among the programs that have already offered and Green is doing what he can to establish early relationships.

"My coaches do a good job of calling the college coaches and then handing the phone over to me so that I can talk to them," Green said. "I feel like I already have a big relationship with Arizona. Also Fresno State, they are the hometown team and I have a good relationship with them. I'd also say I have a good relationship with UNLV."

A decision is still a long time from happening and for this week Green's focus is on making the 16U team.

"I'm going to wait until at least my junior year to make a list," said Green. "I don't think there's any need to worry about it yet."
