Unsigned Lowe names four

Mount Vernon (N.Y.) High School has a target on its back as one of the top ranked teams in the country, and Ridgeway High School from Memphis, Tenn., hit the target with a convincing win over Mount Vernon in the quarterfinals of the Beach Ball Classic. Leading the way for Mount Vernon is 6-foot, 160-pound unsigned senior point guard Chris Lowe. At the event, Lowe listed his top four schools to Rivals.com.
"Right now it is St. John's, Providence, Virginia Tech and Temple," said Lowe. "All four have offered, and the main thing I am looking for is to stay close to home and get some playing time early."

In the loss to Ridgeway, Lowe only managed 4 points to go along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 turnovers. While leading Mount Vernon to a fifth place finish, Lowe averaged 11 points, just under 3 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 3.5 assists and 4 turnovers.
Lowe, who plans to make a decision after the season in March, is presently focused on running the show for the high powered Mount Vernon club.
"My job is to make sure we win," he said. "That means I need to score and make sure that Jonathan Mitchell and Michael Coburn get touches."
A heady player with a strong court sense, Lowe will need to develop both his strength and his jump shot to be successful at the high-major level. For the event, Lowe only attempted two three-pointers, missing both.
