With five-star Brandon McCoy's simple click of a button to send a Tuesday night tweet, Marvin Menzies has his signature recruit at UNLV.

Over the past few weeks, buzz had been building the that Rebels could sneak in and pull the No. 11 player in the class of 2017 away from the likes of Oregon and Michigan State and the buzz turned out to be true when McCoy announced via Twitter and Instagram that he has committed to UNLV.

A big and strong center who has terrific hands and soft touch around the rim, McCoy is the third highest ranked player to commit to UNLV during the Rivals.com. Only Anthony Bennett (No. 7) and Rashad Vaughn (No. 8) ranked higher when they made their commitments.

Tasked with rebuilding a Rebels program that recruited well but didn't perform up to expectations under Dave Rice, Menzies has now landed a centerpiece player. McCoy has the tools to come in and put up big numbers as a scorer and rebounder from the moment he arrives on campus and could be a huge key in turning things around out in the desert

Pairing McCoy with athletic wings like Jay Green and Tervell Beck who are also coming in from the 2017 class should mean good things.
