The UNLV Runnin' Rebels and head coach Dave Rice continue to stack highly rated talent.
The latest to join on with UNLV is Memphis (Tenn.) Bolton point guard Jaylen Fisher, who committed to the Rebels during a Wednesday evening ceremony at his high school.
Ranked No. 55 overall in the class of 2016, Fisher is a four-star talent with 6-foot-2 size and an attacking mentality.
Fisher's longtime summer coach Norton Hurd of Memphis-based Team Thad says Fisher should be able to step right in and help.
"He's a pure point guard," Hurd said. "He's a guy that can give you 20 points but he's also a guy who with talent around him who makes others better and puts people in the best situation."
While Fisher is a drive-and-dish point guard who gets others involved or scores as necessary, he may be most impressive on the defensive side of the ball. Fisher has long been one of the best on the ball defenders in the class of 2016 and his ferocity on that end should help him get on the floor as soon as he arrives in Vegas.
Fisher is the fourth member of the class of 2016 to pick UNLV and he is their second four-star commitment. Versatile combo forward Justin Jackson from Canada is another four-star pickup while combo guard Christian Vital is a late blooming three-star who can score from deep and forward Carlos Johnson is a hulking bruiser who loves to attack off the dribble.
