Undersized Combo Guard Can Score

T. Ron Christy, a slippery 5'10 1/2" 170 pound combo guard from Kolbe Cathedral High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is one of the more hidden talents in the class of 2003 coming out of New England.
Christy, who recently pumped in 54 points for the Connecticut Flame vs. the Brooklyn-based T.O.P. team in the quarterfinals Wayne Simone's Connecticut Select Tournament, is extremely quick off the dribble. After catching T.Ron with the Connecticut Flame early in the summer, Rivalshoops.com was impressed with his toughness and pentrating ability. Christy possesses good strength and excels at taking his man off the dribble.

"He's the best I've seen as a coach off the dribble," said Scott Nails, one of Christy's coaches with The Flame. "Offensively, he's got the entire package."
Christy, who is a young senior at 16 years old, has fielded interest from La Salle, Central Connecticut, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Hartford, and Western Kentucky. He does not yet have any offers, nor does T. Ron have any visits lined up.
The biggest obstacles in Christy's recruitment seem to be that he is a tweener as an undersized combo, and that he just flat out hasn't gotten the exposure yet.
"A lot of people still don't know about him," said Nails.
Christy, who was the 11th leading scorer overall at last summer's Las Vegas Big Time Tournament, was back in Vegas this summer, as well as at The Charlie Weber Tourney in West Virginia, playing alongside Cornelio Guibunda, Sam Manhanga, and company. T. Ron was named MVP of one of the Eastern Invitational Camp sessions.
Christy averaged averaged 12.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.6 steals last season for coach John Pfhol at Kolbe Cathedral.
One thing that isn't holding up Christy's recruitment are academics. He carries a 2.9 GPA at academically competitive Kolbe and recently took the SAT for the first time.
