UNC Wilmington adds in-state PG

UNC-Wilmington has made a splash in the NCAA tournament because of the great play of under the radar players. New Seahawks head coach Bennie Moss may have another sleeper player ready to make a splash in March in in-state guard Chad Tomko.
The 5-foot-11 prospect from Charlotte (N.C.) Independence verbally committed to the Colonial Athletic Association on Tuesday.

"Everything about it, I just loved it. I feel like I can trust the coaches and I know (Moss) is going to be successful. I can live with that," Tomko said. "He wants me to come in and be the leader on and off the court," Tomko said. "I'll do anything that I can possibly do."
Tomko is a big get for the Seahawks because of his speed, toughness and perimeter shot. Tomko was a standout for Carolina Celtics on the AAU circuit. The point guard said he is looking forward to proving himself at the college level.
"I expect to be in the NCAA tournament," Tomko said. "I got to go to work and make it happen."
