UNC Moves Up With David Padgett

David Padgett, a 6-11, 235 pound center/power forward from Reno (NV) High School, told us today that North Carolina has moved up on his list. "I have completed all my visits," Padgett told us tonight. "So I will sit down and take my in home visits. Then I will talk it over with my parents."
And the UNC visit? "It went well," Padgett said. "Sean May took me around. I got to meet the players. I hung out with them a lot. I got along great with them. North Carolina has moved up on my list. I hadn't been to that place so I learned a lot from the trip."

Padgett will have Kansas in first for an in home visit next Tuesday. On Thursday of next week, Arizona takes an in home visit. The following Thursday Stanford has an in home. And UNC will also take in home visit at a date to be determined.
Padgett has also taken visits to Kansas, Stanford, and Arizona. "They were all great trips," Padgett said. "I will probably just get a feel after taking the in home visits."
Padgett told us that UNC indicated he would have a good shot at starting if he committed to them. "I don't expect that," Padgett said. "But it's something to shoot for if I go there."
An excellent student, Padgett said he's carrying a 3.3 GPA. Padgett is one of the best players in the 2003 class and one of the most sought after student/athletes. Padgett finished up his junior year averaging 23 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks per game. His team loses only one player. Padgett's team should be one of the best in the country this season. "I just want to make my decision," Padgett said. "And then enjoy my senior season."
