Udoh leaning towards prep school

The No. 115 ranked prospect in the Rivals150 Ekpe Udoh is back from shoulder surgery and averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds for Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Okla., in the four games since his return. High-majors are actively pursuing the 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward, but Udoh is leaning towards spending next year at a prep school.
"Michigan and Pittsburgh have offers for me," said Udoh. "And Maryland, Wake Forest and Kentucky have all called recently. I'm also interested in Oklahoma State.

"But really I'm leaning towards going to prep school for a year even if I do qualify. There is a good chance I'll end up at Harmony Prep."
As to what college he favors, Udoh gives Michigan the nod.
"Michigan is my favorite," he said. "I would have a chance to play right away there, since they are losing a lot of big men. Over time, I have developed a very good relationship with the coaching staff, also."
A long presence inside as a defender and rebounder, Udoh is developing more of an offensive game. He is capable of hitting the 15-foot face up jumper, and his back to the basket game should improve once he gets healthy and stronger.
"I need to get stronger and improve my footwork," he said. "But I am capable of pulling my man out on the perimeter, and I'm running the floor well."
