RivalsHoops.com's number three ranked player in the 2003 class, Charlie Villanueva, will be taking another visit. "Charlie is supposed to take the unofficial visit with his brother this Thursday morning," said Villanueva's AAU coach, Gary Charles. "This will be his last trip."
Villanueva has also taken an official visit to Kansas, a trip Charlie has said went well. "Kansas and UCONN are both great schools," Charles said. "If Charlie goes to college he will win going to either of those schools."
Charles said Villanueva has not yet made a decision on whether he will play college ball or keep his name into the NBA draft. "Charlie has until June 19th to pull his name out of the draft," Charles said.
Charles added: "Once Charlie is done with his visit he will go down to Florida to work out. If we know before the 19th he will go to college, it will be announced. If we know before the 19th he will keep his name in the draft, we will announce it. It wouldn't be fair to the college he might go to if we didn't say anything."
Villanueva, 6-10 of Blair Academy in New Jersey, has great range on his jumper for a big man. He is also a threat in transition due to his agility and long arms. He can intimidate you in transition as those long arms reach to the sky with the ball when slamming it home. Now Villanueva, his family, and coaches have to decide whether these skills are good enough now to take a shot at the NBA.
