UConn adds shot-swatting big

There's no medical research that indicates landing a commitment leads to improved health. However, Jim Calhoun had to at least be feeling a little better thanks to his latest commitment.
Just a few days after crashing his bike, Calhoun and his staff crashed the dreams of other programs by picking up a commitment from Kentan Facey.

Per Facey's summer coach and mentor Karriem Memminger, the 6-foot-8 power forward from Glen Head (N.Y.) Long Island Lutheran committed to Connecticut late Wednesday night.
Originally from Jamaica, Facey is a slender and mobile three-star big man who gets up and down the floor quickly. He has good hands, tries to dunk everything around the rim and is in the stages of developing a jump hook.
Facey's strength, though, is his prowess on the defensive end and as a rebounder. He's among the class of 2013's top shot blockers and will rebound in and out of his area.
Currently an non-ranked three-star prospect, look for Facey to make his debut in the 2013 Rivals150 when it is updated in late August.
