UCLA gets their guy

Just a year ago, few people outside of California knew much about Norman Powell. Now, he's a highly regarded four-star prospect who is committed to one of the most tradition rich programs in the country after giving UCLA a Sunday commitment.
An explosive 6-foot-3 shooting guard from San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln, Powell catapulted himself onto the national radar thanks to a high-octane style. It's one that he thinks the Bruins will be playing more of during his college career.

"I feel that it's the right fit for me," Powell told Rivals.com. "Coach Howland is telling me that he wants to get back to a faster style and that's a fit for me."
Powell has also taken notice of how many recent Bruin guards have found their way into the NBA.
"The development of their past guard is impressive," said Powell. "Russell Westbrook,, Jordan Farmar, Darren Collison and all the those guys have made it to the NBA and I like how Coach Howland has worked with them."
Now that he's off the board, Powell is taking some satisfaction into where some hard work has taken him in a short period of time.
"I feel great about it," said Powell. "It took a lot of hard work and dedication to be where I am."
