FIVE-STAR DE SOUSA FOCUSED ON GAME, NOT COLLEGE CHOICE

For a little while, it looked like five-star power forward Silvio De Sousa may have topped out a bit as a prospect. Over the last month, though, the tough big man has shown an expanded offensive game playing for the Florida Vipers.

Make no mistake, playing some bully ball and dunking anything possible is and will remain De Sousa's strength. But, he's showing improved shooting touch and making better decisions in the post.

During the winter, De Sousa mentioned Maryland (where good friend four-star center Bruno Fernando will be a freshman) and Louisville as two schools that were doing well with him. However, with others like Illinois, Florida, Syracuse and Miami involved, De Sousa says that he is wide open.

As for a decision or prioritizing those chasing him, De Sousa said he's totally focused on his game and showing that he's more than just a dunker.

"I've always had that type of game," De Sousa told Rivals.com. "During the high school season I didn't show it as much. I've gotten more confident and I keep working hard. I'm really proud of myself.

"Every school is recruiting me hard and I am just focused on getting in the gym."

MORE SATURDAY NEWS AND NOTABLES

A teammate of De Sousa's on the Florida Vipers, forward Darius Days is due for a nice bump up from his current spot of No. 113 in the next set of rankings. Days embraces the matchup he faces and figures out how to execute against it. He can make jumpers, is tough around the rim and is an all out competitor with a little bit of Draymond Green in his game. Kansas, Georgia Tech, LSU, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Virginia, USC and several others have offered, and he looks capable of playing for pretty much any program in the country.

It's not often that a high school prospect drops Waymon Tisdale as the player coaches compare him to, but 2019 Eric Dixon threw that one out there. It's not a bad comparison stylistically. The four-star is skilled, strong and a crafty scorer who likes physical play. He listed offers from Drexel, St. Joseph's, La Salle, Oklahoma State, Georgetown and Rutgers to go along with interest from Maryland, Temple, Wake Forest and Villanova.

It won't be a surprise if 2019 combo guard Jahmius Ramsey of Texas Hard Work becomes a household name to Big 12 and SEC coaches by the end of the summer. At 6-foot-4 or so, he's a powerful athlete who plays in attack mode on both ends of the floor. Texas A&M recently offered and so have Inarnate Word, Tulane and Kansas State. Ramsey mentioned Tennessee and the other Texas schools as those showing interest.

Point guard Jahvon Quinerly backed up his five-star status. He dominated down the stretch in a comeback win for Sports U over KC Run GMC. Quinerly recently cut his list down to Arizona, Villanova, Seton Hall, Kansas, UCLA, Virginia and Stanford and should have another cut sooner than later.

The game we saw 2020 point guard Jalen Suggs wasn't an ideal one, as he inexplicably fouled out about midway through the second quarter. But the minutes he was on the floor he impressed with size, toughness and on the fly decision making. Suggs appears to be a big-time talent and already has offers from Marquette, Iowa, Memphis, Minnesota, Iowa State, Baylor and others.
