UA camp: Morris ready for call

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - If you're a college coach who has been trying to get in touch with three-star center Nate Morris, don't be offended if you haven't heard back.
"My mom has mostly talked to more people than I have. I actually haven't had a phone," Morris said. "I just got my phone back. Really, I haven't talked to hardly anybody because of that simple fact."

A 6-foot-10, 225-pound native of Dallas, Morris listed scholarship offers from Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, SMU, Texas, Texas Tech and Tulsa.
Talking to coaches on the phone hasn't been a major part of the recruiting process for Morris, but he's still had the chance to see a couple of campuses for games during the college season. Morris told Rivals.com that he saw games at Baylor, Oklahoma State and SMU during the season and he also took an unofficial visit to see the Cowboys.
"I've known quite a few players to go through there," Morris said of Oklahoma State. "It's a nice school. I love the feel of it. Other than that, it's the same as every other school. Knowing people going into it helps a lot."
Morris is mostly focused on finding a future program that can put him in position to play immediately. He is still open in the recruiting process and doesn't plan to form a list anytime soon.
"[I want to go] where I think I can come in and be an impact right off the bat," Morris said. "I want to build my skillset as much as possible."
This spring, Morris ran with the Dallas Mustangs and averaged 7.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and three blocks per game playing in the adidas Gauntlet. With the platform of the July live evaluation period, Morris is hoping to have some strong performances in front of college coaches.
"[I want to] do as best as I can and get seen by as many people as I can," Morris said. "Just get better overall, any way that I can. I know that I need to work on my offensive game a little bit more. I have lots of little improvements I can make."
