Two programs watching Babbitt

As one of the best 2008 prospects Luke Babbitt excelled this past summer playing for the Las Vegas Prospects. The 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward prospect has carried his strong play into his high school season, and a couple top programs have made their way to Galena High School in Carson City, Nev., to watch Babbitt play.
"Duke has been to the school once and watched play another time also," said Las Vegas Prospects coach Anthony Brown. "Arizona has also been in, and Texas and Indiana are showing a lot of interest right now. Then there are all the other schools that have been on his list."

Those other schools include Wake Forest, California, USC, UCLA, UNLV and Nevada.
For the year, Babbitt is averaging 24.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 2.3 assists per game as a sophomore.
Rivals.com will catch Babbitt in action with the Las Vegas Prospects in May at the Arizona Cactus Classic in Tucson.
Luke Babbitt scouting report:
A versatile player who can score inside with his penchant for establishing position and then with his agile footwork, Babbitt also has a very nice face up jumper out to the three-point line. Also skilled as a passer and rebounder, Babbitt has the ability to impact the game anywhere on the court although his lateral quickness must improve to guard a high-major perimeter player. A tough competitor, Babbitt has a polished all around game and is one of 2008's better prospects.
