Two Offers On Table For GA Swingman

Even with their vaunted frontline, the Atlanta Celtics still need good play from the perimeter to succeed. Dwayne Day, a smooth 6-foot-4, 185-pound swingman from Vidalia (GA) High School has helped provide that, not only with his shooting prowess from the outside but with his court presence as well.
"I'm a shooter," said Day. "But I try to keep the team together and also be a leader. As long as I keep the team's momentum up, we win games, so that's what I try to do."

Day's recruitment has been extremely busy. A whole host of schools all across the southeastern part of the United States have been involved. Georgia and Florida have offered. Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama are some of the other schools in the mix. Day is looking to narrow things down.
"I'm in the process right now of trying to narrow it down to reach a Top Five," he said. "But I haven't sat down and done it yet."
One thing that will help Day in his decision making is if the school is relatively close to his Vidalia residence. "I want to stay close to home," he said.
At the Rose City Showcase in Portland, Day impressed with his ability to shoot with range from the outside and his silky smooth demeanor. He will need to build strength and acknowledges that he would like to improve his leaping ability as well as his ability to score off the dribble. Day is an A/B student in the classroom. He scored an 860 on the SAT his first try, but recently took the test again two weeks ago and is awaiting the score.
Day currently ranks #32 ranked small forward and #147 overall in the Rivals150.
