Two in front for Stone

There are some players that are invaluable to their team simply because of their toughness and energy. Reclassified senior Saiquon Stone is just this type of player for Laurinburg (N.C.) Prep. Two schools are presently in front in the recruitment of the tough nosed 6-foot-5, 185-pound shooting guard from New York.
Saiquon's top two are probably Providence and Marist," said Laurinburg head coach Billy Reid. "Both those schools have offered, and he is also interested in Pittsburgh and Southern Miss. Texas Tech has also just recently got involved with Saiquon."

Averaging 15 points and 7 rebounds per game, Stone has played the role of super sub for 21-1 Laurinburg Prep.
"Saiquon is one of the back bones of our team," said Reid. "He's a tough kid, and that's the main reason teams want him. He's a big energy guy, and that's why we bring him off the bench."
Reid noted that Stone has improved his outside shooting, but there is still room for improvement in his consistency.
"The main thing for him to work on is the consistency of his outside jumper," said Reid. "He is working hard and is leading our team by example. He has been great to have around."
