Two From Big East Watch Fofana

The battle continues. Hassan Fofana, a 6-9, 260-pound center from Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, is one of the few remaining big men who can actualy make a significant impact down the road on the college level. And Fofana has already indicated he might want to end his process earlier than expected.
Hargrave Military Academy head coach Mike Preston has already told RivalsHoops.com that Fofana has cut the list down to six schools -- Connnecticut, Virginia, Maryland, Purdue, Memphis, and St. John's. Fofana worked out today at Hargrave Military Academy and a source told us that the only schools watching were St. John's and Connecticut.

It appears Connecticut has some ground to make up while the Red Storm are neck and neck with Maryland to sign Fofana next month. However, Preston has told us that each school is still being considered for an official visit and no one has been eliminated.
Preston has also told us that Fofana is considering a trip to St. John's, possible the weekend of October 19th. Connecticut would also love to bring Fofana in for a visit.
Preston told us he wasn't sure when the next trip would be after the St. John's visit. "That's up to Hassan," Preston said. "I think he might take at least one, maybe two more. He has said before he wanted to take all five but I am not sure if that will happen. He wants to sign early."
Ohio State dropped out while other schools like Wisconsin, Cornell, Stanford, Boston College, Texas Tech, and Michigan did not make the final cut, according to Preston.
Fofana, who hails from West Africa, played this summer for the the Middlesex Magic. Fofana is an active and aggressive 260 pounder. He has great upside to his game and runs the floor hard all the time. He has a chance to be a great college basketball player because of his willingness to learn the game both on the AAU level and the high school level.
