Two favorites from Smith

Going into the spring travel season, Shaunessy Smith says he has his eyes on a pair of programs while a host of others are hot on the tail of the 6-foot-6 wing from Noxubee County (Miss.) High School.
Smith is posting impressive numbers this year, scoring 25.3 points a game and looking for win number 20 this week. He said his game is improved thanks to the summer.

"I'm scoring better than I did better than last year," Smith said. "I think I got a little better because of AAU and just working harder everyday."
He's ready to return to the AAU circuit, too, with the Birmingham Storm. He's been invited to the Nike sponsored Paul Pierce wing camp and the LeBron James All-American camp and there will certainly be a number of coaches looking for him along the way.
With offers from Clemson, Southern Cal, Iowa, Ole Miss and Mississippi State and Indiana, Baylor, Kansas and others are still looking at him, Smith will certainly be a highly recruited player over the next six months.
Has anyone stood out to this point?
"Clemson. I like their style of play and they were one of the first ones to start to recruit me," Smith said. "They are (the leader) right now. They are right there with (Mississippi) State. I like (MSU's) style of play, too. I've been watching them a lot and I've been up there a lot."
Smith said he will be watching those that are watching him. He hopes to make an informed decision sometime this year.
"I was thinking about committing after the AAU season and after I do all of my visits," Smith said.
