Two ACC schools for Hubert

Three-star post player Desmond Hubert finally feels good about the way he is playing and is focused on a couple ACC schools in search of a big man.
Hubert came into last summer's travel season as a hot recruit, but interest dipped after a disappointing travel season and Hubert decided to postpone a college decision until the spring signing period.

Now he is playing at a higher level and has narrowed his recruitment down to two ACC schools.
"I started off a little slow, but now I'm getting into it and playing better," said Hubert. "I'm scoring more and I'm distributing the ball to my teammates when I get double teamed.
"I'm down to Maryland and North Carolina. Maryland has been recruiting me, and Coach Williams came to watch me about three weeks ago and offered."
Right now Hubert, a 6-foot-9 center, is focused on helping his 9-2 Cream Ridge (N.J.) New Egypt High School team finish the season strongly. After the season, he will turn his attention towards recruiting and likely visit North Carolina.
"It will come down to where I am most comfortable with the players, coaches and the schools," he said. "Academics will be important but so will how I fit into the system basketball wise. Most people see me as a defensive player, and I don't have a problem with that. But in college, I want to transform into a more versatile player who does more than one thing."
Hubert, who ran with the Playaz Basketball Club, is the No. 131 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
