Tulsa Dips into Dallas for Guard Tandem

Tulsa has landed a pair of commitments from Dallas area players, as 5-11 Brett McDade and 6-1 Kenneth Kelley (right) have pledged to the Golden Hurricane program following weekend official visits.
Rivalshoops.com spoke to both McDade and Kelley on Monday night, and they each confirmed their commitments to Tulsa.

The commitments came as little surprise, since both players told Rivalshoops.com back in August that Tulsa was the leader for their services.
"The players and the coaching staff were the main reason I picked Tulsa," Kelley said. "I also liked the community, and it's a good situation for me to come in and contribute."
McDade was impressed with the local support for the Tulsa basketball program.
"The atmosphere around the town is great, and everybody I talked to talked about how much they love basketball," he said.
Both McDade and Kelley are combination type guards who are well suited to Tulsa's style of play.
"They see us as being interchangeable," McDade explained. "They said that they really didn't have a point guard and a shooting guard -- just whoever gets it [the ball]."
McDade and Kelley played with the Texas Top Prospects program this past spring and summer, so the two players have a good familiarity with each other.
However, they took different routes to get to Tulsa this past weekend. Kelley hopped on a plane and flew into the city, while McDade rode up via automobile.
While their paths were different, the results were the same, with Tulsa hitting the daily double in Big D.
"I didn't even really know that Kenneth was that interested in Tulsa," McDade said. "Once I found out about that, I was thinking about me and him playing together -- I thought that would be great."
