Torin Francis: Visits For Sure In August

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- Torin Francis, a highly skilled 6-10, 220-pound forward from Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, told us after his terrific performance yesterday afternoon that he will take several visits in August.
"I don't know the order of the visits yet," Francis said after he scored 41 points in a losing effort. "But I do plan on visiting Duke, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Georgetown, and Notre Dame," Francis said. "I have already been to Boston College."

In addition, Francis said there is a possibility that he might visit Connecticut, Wake Forest, Florida, and Georia Tech."
Francis will be down in Orlando, Florida for the NIKE Showcase and National AAU tournament. "It's likely these visits will take place in August as of now," Francis said. "But I don't have a leader right now. I see all of these schools as equal."
Francis, a likely candidate for the spring McDonald's All American game, put on an offensive show yesterday against a very talented New York Ravens AAU team. He scored 41 points on all sorts of ways -- jumpers from the high post, drives to the basket, putbacks, and finishing passes with thundering dunks.
Francis had decided to delay his visits until August because Torin is trying out for the USA junior team. Francis is likely to make a late August decision. "That is what I would like to do if I feel comfortable with the right school," Francis said. "This is why I want to take my visits in August."
So, as of now, a decision for late August, perhaps September is the goal for Francis? "Yes, I would like to take as many visits as I can during that time," Francis said. "This will give me a good idea on what they look like and a chance to speak to the coaches in person."
Francis had a great season as a junior. Francis averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per contest.
