Torin Francis Ready For Big Season

It's been a while since Torin Francis, a highly skilled 6-10, 220-pound forward from Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, committed to Notre Dame last August 30th. It was a war many thought the Irish could never win. But the strength of the school and a terrific recruiting job by coach Mike Brey and his staff pulled off this recruiting upset.
"Torin's very excited about playing for Notre Dame next season," said his high school coach David First. "We just started practice last week. I wish we had another week before we play Oak Hill. But so far Torin has looked great."

First said Francis will be a big part of his team's success this season. Torin will be the go to guy when Tabor Academy needs some points. "What has impressed me is his leadership skills," First said. "He is doing several things that are just outstanding. He is a leader. He is a great student and a great player."
Francis chose Notre Dame over North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Boston College.
Francis is going to have a real good shot at the McDonald's All American game to be held next Spring at Madison Square Garden. Most think Francis has a good shot because of his ability to go high post/low post on the offensive end.
"Torin is always working on his game," First said. "He has been working very hard in practice. We have our first game this Friday. He will be ready."
