Torin Francis Finishes Up Georgia Tech Trip

Torin Francis, a highly skilled 6-10, 220-pound forward from Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, finished up his Georgia Tech today. Francis spent some time with point guard Jarrett Jack, who is being also recruited by Georgia Tech. Both Jack and Francis have played before on a USA team and know each other well. Francis treated the Tech visit as he did with his North Carolina visit. Neither Jack nor Francis indicated a timeframe on when they would decide.
Francis now finishes up his recruiting tour with a trip to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, who have already received commitments from two top 100 recruits in the class of 2002. Notre Dame has the last at-bat in this battle because it's likely Francis will think a bit about his trips and then make a decision. He is likely to take one official visit -- to the winner of this recruiting battle.

Francis arrived on the Tech campus this morning after having a successful trip to North Carolina the previous day. He spent about six to seven hours on the Tech campus, about the same amount of time he had on the North Carolina campus.
Sources close to Francis told us that Torin enjoyed his stay with the UNC coaches and he asked quite a few questions about the campus and academic structure of North Carolina.
Our sources indicate that Francis is going to make a decision next week. It's likely then that Francis will take his official visit to the school he chooses during the winter. Francis has already visited Maryland, Georgetown, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, and Boston College. Duke is not involved.
Most of these schools would love to have Francis on their team next season because of his great ability to bounce off the high post to the low post and score effectively.
Francis had been very impressive at the AAU Showcase inside the beautiful Wide World of Sports complex on the grounds of Walt Disney. Francis led his team into the Final against Team Texas.
It might be wise to point out that each of the schools above still has a legitimate chance to getting Francis. This has always been indicated by Francis, his family, and his head coach David First.
