Top Shooter Odzic Chooses USC

One of the nation’s better shooters off the pass Sead Odzic has given a verbal commitment Southern Cal while on an official visit. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound shooting guard from Nile West High School in Skokie, Ill., will look to fill a needed role for the Trojans.
“Sead committed to Southern Cal this weekend while he was there on an official visit,” said Odzic’s AAU coach Mike Mullins of the Illinois Wolves. “He was also looking at Kent State, Santa Clara, Davidson, and Wyoming.”

Odzic is a lethal threat working without the ball and coming off screens for three pointers. Not overly athletic or crafty with the ball, he is also very good at getting defenders in the air with a shot fake and then hitting the midrange pull up jumper.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for him,” said Coach Mullins. “There is a need opening up at shooting guard when he will get there. There are a lot of athletes on the team, and he can come in and be an asset shooting the ball. He has a chance for minutes early. Obviously, there is a need for knock down shooters as was evident with the Olympic team, and Sead can do it with the best of them.”
