Top ranked Monroe decides

It didn't take long for Greg Monroe, the No. 1 ranked player in the class of 2008, to make a decision about his future. After taking an official visit to LSU last weekend, the five-star power forward arrived on the Georgetown campus on Friday night. There was a time when it appeared that Monroe would take all five visits, but that is no longer the case, as Monroe has made a decision.
"Greg is done taking visits," said Tyron Mouzon, the head coach at Helen Cox High School. He has given a commitment to Georgetown and is done taking visits."

Monroe, the 6-foot-10, 226-pound power forward from Harvey, La., recently trimmed his list to Connecticut, Duke, Georgetown, LSU and Texas.
Additionally, he was scheduled to take official visits to Texas on October 19 and Duke on October 28, but those visits will no longer take place.
Rivals.com will have a complete update on Monroe and his decision in the near future.
Greg Monroe Scouting Report: A smooth athlete at 6-foot-10, Monroe has an all around skill package that is only going to get better. The lefty has great court awareness and passes the ball extremely well. He is extending his shooting range and is developing scoring moves going to his right. When going to his left, he is a force. Strong on the boards and a shot blocking threat, Monroe also has the quickness to guard on the perimeter. A year younger than most prospects in his class, Monroe has an extremely high ceiling.
