Top programs recruiting 2007 Lucas

The talent laden Texas Hoops Jamboree takes place this weekend in Houston, Texas. One of many top ranked players playing in the event is Jai Lucas, a 5-foot-10, 150-pound point guard from Bellaire (Texas) High School. The No. 19 ranked player in the class has some of the top programs in the country recruiting him.
“Jai is hearing from pretty much everyone,” said his father and former NBA player and coach John Lucas. “[North] Carolina invited him to their midnight madness. We’ve heard from Florida several times as well as Kentucky, Wake Forest, Clemson and Georgia Tech. He has also taken some unofficial visits to Texas.”

Bellaire is off to a 3-0 start with Lucas going for 29 points in their opening game.
“Jai has been doing really good,” said Coach Lucas. “He had 29 the first night and then 11 and 15. They beat all the good teams in Texas during their fall league except for Darrell Arthur’s team. South Oak Cliff beat them by one point.”
Lucas is joined by 2007 big man Isaiah Rusher and 2006 forward Dale Vanwright on the Bellaire squad. They will face Dallas Kimball this Saturday at 3:00.
