It probably didn't go down quite like he had planned but Julius Randle, the nation's top player in the class of 2013, is down to six schools.
Tuesday afternoon, Randle confirmed
to Rivals.com the accuracy of a tweet released by his school indicating that he is down to Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, N.C. State, Oklahoma and Texas.
"Yes, it's down to those six schools," Randle told Rivals.com. "I talked to the schools that are out and that's who is left."
Next up for Randle is a now on-again visit to see Billy Donovan and the Gators. The visit had always been planned for this coming weekend, but the Gators had asked Randle to wait until the season to visit. Now, this weekend is back on.
"They came in for the in home and told me that the would like me to go ahead and visit this weekend," said Randle. "So, I'm going to go ahead and visit Florida this weekend."
For now, that is the only other visit that the 6-foot-9 power forward has set.
As for his Midnight Madness plans, Randle says that the way it looks he won't be visiting anybody that weekend. It's homecoming at his school and his plan is to stay home and attend those festivities.
