Top Five for Jemison

The No. 139 ranked player in the class of 2006 Demetrius Jemison finished a run to the Final Four of the Alabama state tournament averaging 18 points and 9 rebounds per game. The powerfully built 6-foot-6, 225-pound combo forward from Huffman High School in Birmingham, Ala., claims up to six offers as a number of schools pursue him and his teammate Stanley Robinson.
"I like Illinois, Maryland, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest," said Jemison. "I don't have a leader right now, but I'll know more after I take a few visits this summer. I know I'm going to visit Illinois, Cincinnati, and probably Maryland."

Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, UAB, Cincinnati and Georgia Tech are among the schools that Jemison claims offers from.
Although only 6-foot-6, Jemison specializes in posting around the basket while the taller Robinson generally works the high post area. Good with both hands around the basket and quick off the floor, Jemison uses his body to gain position and fend off defenders around the basket in a similar fashion to Kentucky's undersized power forward Chuck Hayes. Robinson and Jemison make for a lethal high-low combination as Jemison is also capable of doing damage in the key area.
"I'll be looking for what type of ball a school plays," said Jemison. "I like to run a little, and in the half court set I like to post and play the high post. I'll just be looking for a school that I feel will be a good fit for me."
Concerning the development of his game, Jemison is focused on developing his small forward skills.
"I've worked hard on my 15-foot jump shot, and that has improved a lot now," he said. "I need to continue to improve my ball handling and perimeter defense to become a complete player."
