WESTFIELD, Ind. -- One of the top players in the class of 2018, versatile small forward Taeshon Cherry is building off of a strong junior season.

The 6-foot-8 wingman from San Diego has had an impressive run through the first two sessions of Nike's EYBL and it has resulted in a pair of new scholarship offers.

"Oregon and Florida State are the latest to offer," Cherry told Rivals.com. "They offered me this past week so they've been getting on me a lot. Arizona, Texas A&M and USC are also on me a lot. It's getting a little hectic right now but I'm just trying to balance it out with school and everything else."

Cherry broke down the two most recent offers.

Oregon: "I was waiting on that Oregon offer because my friends Miles Norris got an offer from them too and we've been talking about playing together all the time and we have most of the same offers but I was waiting on that one. We'll see how everything pans out though."

Florida State: "Florida State is a great program and coach Hamilton is a great coach. They have a bunch of assistant coaches that I like a lot. They're like a family too and a family atmosphere is what I what to be in."

So far, Cherry has hosted Gonzaga, Texas A&M and Arizona for in home visits and he broke those down.

Gonzaga: "Having Mark Few in my house was crazy. We just talked basketball, you know how I can get better, things I need to work on, stuff like that. He took his team to the championship so obviously he's a great coach."

Texas A&M: "(A&M) has been recruiting me since the eighth grade so them coming in was a big deal. They're one of my top schools right now because of the relationships I have with the coaches and the relationship they have with my family."

Arizona: "Arizona is a little closer to home and coach Miller has been recruiting me since my freshman year so we have a great relationship. Shareef O'Neal is like one of my best friends so him committing there was big."

Cherry knows of one other big time program that could be in touch soon but outside of that, he'll be looking to cut down his list soon and is hoping to take visits and decide in the Fall.

"My dad told me Kentucky's supposed to call this week so it would be great to add them to the mix and see what they're about," said Cherry.

"I'm probably going to narrow things down pretty soon. I was thinking I was going to do it after this session but I'm going to talk things over with my family and we'll decide if I should narrow things down or wait a little longer. I plan on cutting a list to a top five and then take those five official visits in the fall."
