Top 30 junior Courtney Ramey makes his pick

Earlier this week, top 30 junior point guard Courtney Ramey's father Terrell indicated to Rivals.com that he could cut his list soon.

Friday afternoon at Webster Groves (Mo.) High, the class of 2018's No. 28 ranked player did more than that as he announced in a press conference that he will play his college basketball at Louisville.

The direct involvement of Rick Pitino in Ramey's recruitment made a difference.

"The relationship (Courtney) was able to develop with Pitino was big," the elder Ramey told Rivals.com. "Coach Pitino came out four times to see him and really worked it. Also the style of play is a perfect fit."

A jet with the ball who puts constant pressure on the defense with his attacking style, Ramey is always looking to get into the paint and make things happen. At 6-foot-3, he has excellent size and length to go along with his quickness and he's capable of being very disruptive on the defensive end.

Though he's not a deadeye jump shooter, he has a nice pull-up game and is dangerous enough from deep that defenders have to respect him. Most importantly, he is a perfect fit for Louisville's press and how Pitino wants to use his guards to apply pressure on both sides of the ball.

Ramey is the second guard to pick Louisville from the class of 2018. He joins high scoring combo guard Anfernee Simons from Orlando, who ranks No. 62 overall in the junior class.
