It has been an eventful fall for the No. 18 ranked player in the class of 2019, forward Jeremiah Robinson.
The 6-foot-8 sophomore at Roeland Park (Kans.) Bishop Miege has had several coaches in to see him and now sports offers from Creighton, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Wake Forest and Washington to go along with interest from others like North Carolina and Notre Dame.
A high volume rebounder with great feel for the game, Robinson has also been busy taking trips. He's currently wrapping up a trip to see North Carolina and Wake Forest and has also seen Kansas, Notre Dame and Oklahoma this fall.
Robinson discussed his visits with Rivals.com.
Kansas is a program he's already been to many times and with many official visitors on campus for their Late Night event, Robinson understood the focus was on those official visitors.
“It’s really exciting and the atmosphere is the most exciting thing with all of the people getting into whatever KU is doing at moment," said Robinson. "There were 11 unofficial visits and five official visits so obviously the official visits are going to be more important at the time. But you get time that you need with the coaches to ask whatever you need.”
Robinson also enjoyed his time at his other Big 12 stop, Oklahoma.
“It was really fun, I really enjoyed it," said Robinson. "They were good people and I really enjoyed all of the coaches and the atmosphere of all of the players. Of course the football game was really fun to go to. They see me as more of a three four, a guy who can show ability on the wing but when I get a chance do my business in the post.”
For his Notre Dame visit, Robinson tagged along with a friend who was visiting the school for academic reasons.
“My friend went up for the Stanford and Notre Dame and he was like you should go for a visit," said Robinson. "We went up and did the tailgate with them for a while on the visit. I was talking with coach Humphrey a lot before the visit. I really liked Mike Brey. He really wants to get the most out of his players. He’s not looking for a one and done guy, he’s looking for players that are going to get more advanced in what they are doing. He was saying it’s not a four year plan, it’s a forty year plan.”
This weekend Robinson has been out in North Carolina and he was looking forward to seeing what UNC and Wake have to offer.
“I’m not really sure what to expect at Wake but I’m excited to meet the coaches in person because I enjoy talking to coach Woodberry and Coaching Manning as well," said Robinson. "I’m excited to see the atmosphere, meet the coaches and players and see what the fans are like.
“I know that North Carolina is a very good school and being able to meet the coaches is important as well. I want to see what they have to offer with their facilities and their coaching staff and how they do things as well.”
As for making a decision, Robinson feels the visits will help him down the road but he's not looking to come off the board early.
“I would say I’m in it for the long haul right now," said Robinson. "I’m not in a rush to do anything. Things can change in two years and a coach could be gone or things could happen at a school that I wouldn’t like or I would like.”
