Toombs headed to Sun Belt
Signing day meant it was decision day for Bernard Toombs, a 6-foot-10, 200-poun center from Spencer High School in Columbus, Ga. Toombs signed with Troy on Wednesday, according to his high school head coach Fred Williams.
"I think what he found in Troy was a good school for him that he could play right away and that was something he liked about the situation," Williams said.

Toombs was also considering Charlotte and Jacksonville but a recent visit to the new Sun Belt program helped seal the deal.
"When he went out there with his mother, I think they both liked what they saw in the school," Williams said.
Toombs played with the Georgia Stars in the summer. He's a defensive presence and with added weight, Toombs will be able to develop his offensive production inside the paint.
