Todd Okeson, an offensive-minded 6-0, 160 pound point guard from Dodge City C.C. in Dodge City, Kan., has become a Division I recruiting target this fall with his gritty play.
Okeson first came to the attention of JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com last winter, when he led the Conquistadors to the Region VI semifinals with his fine shooting and capable play-making.
After struggling from the field in Dodge City's first game against Labette C.C. at the Jayhawk Shootout, Okeson pumped in 20 points (on four of six three point shooting) in a Dec. 1 loss to Cowley County C.C.
Dodge City Head Coach Brian Hoberecht said that Denver, Eastern Kentucky, Long Beach State, Robert Morris and Gardner Webb have shown an interest in Okeson thus far.
A native of Weskan, Kan., Okeson averaged 8.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game as a freshman last season. Depending on how his sophomore season unfolds, Okeson could wind up on the Division I level next fall.
