Tim Payne Finished At Casper

Tim Payne, a very athletic 6-6, 210 pound power forward from Casper J.C. in Casper, Wyo., is no longer on the basketball squad.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com recently caught up with Casper Head Coach Ed Toohey, and he informed us that Payne was kicked off the team due to a violation of school and team policies.

"It just got to the point where I could not continue with him anymore on the team," Toohey said. "He was our leading scorer and rebounder."
Toohey had suspended Payne for 11 games during the first part of the season for what he termed as disciplinary reasons. Payne returned from the winter break and played in about five games before Toohey removed him from the team for good.
Payne has remained in school, but Toohey said he is not expected to graduate in the spring. He may need to finish up next year at another JUCO, but he won't be eligible to play.
Payne visited Manhattan in the fall, and had generated interest from others including Rider, Idaho, Drake, Colorado State, San Diego, Wisconsin Green Bay, Stephen F. Austin. Iowa State had also called to inquire about Payne during the school year.
He had been averaging 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the T-birds this season before being kicked off the team.
