Tim Doyle: Confidence Increases In Perimeter Game
OYSTER BAY, NEW YORK -- The one individual part of his game that Tim Doyle wanted to make a big improvement in was his perimeter game. Doyle does so many other things so well on the court such as rebounding, driving to the basket, and finding the open man with nifty passes.

But Doyle realized that if he wanted to be a player that would gain some minutes at St. John's next season when he enrolls, he would have to knock down the open jumper.
What rivalshoops.com saw last night against St. Mary's was a more aggressive Doyle -- Tim looked for his shot more and appeared to be as confident as we have seen him this season.
On three different occasions Doyle broke his man off the dribble near the top of the key and dropped in jumpers during the first two quarters of play. It appeared his foot was slightly on the three-point line on two of those jumpers.
Doyle scored 14 points in the first two quarters of play. Six of those points came from 15 feet and out. "I had to be more aggressive with my shot," Doyle said. "The last two games I wasn't. I wanted to come out and do that tonight."
Doyle did. Doyle also did his usual good work on the boards. He picked up eight rebounds. Doyle also had three blocks in the game. Tim isn't known for elevating but his first block stunned Mamadou Diakite, who was going up for a jumper.
But the jumpshot will be one of the keys to Doyle's college career. "Coach (Rob Pavinelli) is very supportive in what I do," Doyle said. "So it's up to me to go ahead and do it. That's what I tried to do tonight."
