Thursday announcement for five-star wing

It's not playing out how the script was initially written. But the story of five-star James Young's recruitment will be coming to an end on Thursday.

Initially, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Rochester (Mich.) High was going to take unofficial visits to at least Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State and Syracuse. Then he was going to return for official visits and decide sometime before the spring.
At the same time, the No. 8 player in the country's godfather, Sean Mahone, has always said that if the feeling was right then Young would end it.
Well, it appears that the feeling is right. Mahone confirmed to Rivals.com on Wednesday that Young will be announcing his college decision live on ESPNU Thursday evening.
As for where he will end up, there doesn't seem to be much intrigue there. He recently visited John Calipari and Kentucky and that appears to be the only school left that is actively involved.
There could always be a surprise, but given that Young has long listed Kentucky as a favorite, hasn't visited either Kansas or Syracuse and that Michigan State looks to have moved on, the writing would appear to be on the wall.
Should Young pick Kentucky as expected, the Wildcats hold on the top recruiting class in 2013 will only strengthen. With Aaron Harrison (No. 3) and Andrew Harrison (No. 4) already on board, Calipari and his staff will have already landed three top 10 prospects to go along with ranked three-star power forward Derek Willis.
