Three-Star wing picks Utah

Next year, Utah coach Jim Boylen and his staff will lead the Utes into the Pac-10. Last night, they got their first recruit of a new era when George Matthews made a verbal commitment.
An official visitor back in September, Matthews decided that the chance to play in the Pac-10 was too much to pass up.

Originally a member of the class of 2010, the 6-foot-5 small forward starred at Phoenix (Ariz.) St. Mary's. However, he was unhappy with his college choices after high school and decided to do a year of prep school at Westwind Prep in Phoenix.
A three-star prospect, Matthews has good athleticism, can shoot the three and is improving as a ball handler. During the summer, he ran with the Arizona Magic.
