Three schools standing out for Drew

Larry Drew, the No. 3 ranked point guard in the 2008 class, opened his season last night with a crowd of coaches in attendance. The 6-foot, 160-pound point guard from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif., hasn't yet cut down his school list, but he does have three schools at the top of his list.
Coaches from Arizona State, UCLA, North Carolina, Texas and California watched Drew put up 16 points and 7 assists in a winning effort.

After the game, Drew told Rivals.com that he is still exploring his options but that UCLA, North Carolina and Arizona top his school list. Right behind his top three schools are Washington, Florida and Gonzaga.
Despite being right in his backyard and presently in his top three, UCLA is an unlikely destination for Drew, since the Bruins have already accepted commitments from two 2008 point guards- Jerime Anderson and Malcolm Lee.
"I have strong interest in UCLA, but I with the two commitments they just took, I was shocked," said Drew. "I would prefer to stay close to home, but I'm willing to go anywhere to school. I love to travel and see new things."
Drew is the No. 28 prospect overall in the class of 2008.
Larry Drew scouting report
A master at executing the high ball screen, Drew sets teammates up using a variety of speeds, a quick delivery of the pass and overall deceptiveness. He is also a capable scorer from behind the arc and in the mid-range. Defensively, however, Drew needs to become a more intense and physical presence.
