Three offers for Wood

Now that his junior year of basketball is complete, Brandon Wood is looking forward to spending more time thinking about his recruitment. Quite a few programs have expressed an interest in the 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard from Kokomo (IN) High School, but Wood is hoping that other schools take notice of his game throughout the spring and summer AAU Circuit.
"Southern Illinois is at the top of my list right now," said Wood. "Wisconsin, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Butler, Evansville, Army, Kent State and Ohio are some of the other schools recruiting me. I have scholarship offers from Southern Illinois, Army and Evansville.

"Southern Illinois, Butler and Evansville have been by to watch me practice or play this year," he added. "I have also taken unofficial visits to Butler and Southern Illinois. I really had a great time at Southern Illinois because I was able to play with the team during an open gym session. I would really like to take all five official visits before I decide. Wisconsin and Ohio are two schools that I would really like to visit."
After a frustrating but productive junior campaign, Wood is hoping to receive more attention throughout the spring and summer AAU Circuit. If he hopes to see his options increase, Wood knows that he will have to be at his very best.
"We were 10-11 this year and lost in the first round of sectionals," said Wood. "It was a frustrating year for us, but I did average 19.2-points, five rebounds and three steals per game.
"I will be playing with a new AAU team this summer," he added. "The name of the team is C.A.P.S All-Stars. We will be traveling to all of the major tournaments. I know that we are going to Arkansas, Las Vegas and some other tournaments."
