Three new offers for Lawrence

Described as a "throw back" point guard by his AAU coach Anthony Brown of the Las Vegas Prospects, Marcus Lawrence specializes in making his teammates better and winning games. Out of Las Vegas, Nev., and Bishop Gorman High School, who won the state championship, Lawrence, 6-foot, 165-pounds, recently picked up three more offers.
"Oregon State, Minnesota and UNLV have now offered Marcus," said Coach Brown. "Virginia Tech, USC, Arizona State and Gonzaga are also very interested.

"He is wid open still but wants to narrow down his choices after the spring."
Lawrence, the No. 64 ranked player in the class of 2006, already had an offer from Arkansas.
Coming off a state championship season, Lawrence has played extremely well this spring running the show for a talented Las Vegas Prospects club.
"Marcus is a throw back point guard," said Brown. "He's been getting guys off. He really sacrifices himself for the sake of the team. He's not like a lot of other point guards out there that are really scoring guards instead. There is no combo in him. He is definitely a pure point guard.
"He can score when he needs to. But when you watch him, you are going to see a ton of assists and steals."
