Three in the SEC for Humphrey

Billy Humphrey, the No. 10 ranked player in the state of Georgia, had a strong summer shooting the three ball for the Georgia Stars. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound shooting guard from Dacula (Ga.) High School also displayed the ability to put the ball on the floor at the Nike All-American Camp. At this point, he has three favorites from the SEC.
"I like Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, College of Charleston, and Tulane,” said Humphrey. “My top three are Auburn, Tennessee, and South Carolina. I’m open to all three right now. They all offer a great opportunity and are close to home, which is what I’m looking for."

Early playing time and proximity to home top the list of criteria for Humphrey’s choosing a college.
"I’d like to go to a place where I can come in and play as a freshmen,” he said. “I want to be near home, so my family can come see me more than a couple games a year. I’ll be looking for the best situation for me. I want to know up front what my role will be with each team that is recruiting me."
As of now, Humphrey’s visitation schedule is very much up in the air.
"I don’t have any visits set up as of now and am unsure if or when I will take any,” he said. “I’d like to reach a decision before my season starts, but if I don’t feel that, I’m ready I will wait. This is a big decision, and I want to make sure I go where I’ll be happy for four years.”
An extremely good shooter, Humphrey can also put the ball on the floor on a rushing defender but is not overly creative with his handle. His strength and lateral quickness are area that need improving before competing in the SEC.
"I’m in the gym constantly trying to get better,” he said. “There are a lot of things that I need to work on. I’m taking a weight training class in school, so I’m getting to lift a lot of weights.”
