Thorne headed to Big 12

After enjoying a busy summer on the AAU trail, Texas shooting guard Dwight Thorne decided it was time to make his college decision. The 6-foot-2 combo guard verbally committed to a Big 12 program on Wednesday, says his AAU coach Erven Davis of the Dallas Showtyme program.
"Dwight committed to Colorado today," Davis told Rivals.com "He's really excited about it. Assistant coach Paul Graham really developed a good relationship with Dwight and me and they just feel really good about the whole situation. We felt like we could really trust what he was saying."

Davis believes the Buffaloes landed a player perfect for their system.
"I think he's going to be a really good player in their program," Davis said. "It's in the Big 12 and Dwight is really coachable kid that makes his teammates better. I think he'll fit nicely there."
Thorne picked the Buffaloes over Dayton, Utah, TCU, SMU, Fresno State and North Texas. He's the second player to commit to the Big 12 program. Fellow Texan Dale VanWright is also headed to Colorado.
"I think they got a steal in Dwight," Davis said.
