Thompson an All City performer

The season couldn't be going any better for Michael Thompson, the 5-foot-10, 165-pound point guard from Lincoln Park High School in Chicago, Ill. Not only are a large number of schools interested in his services, Thompson was just named to the All-City team on Monday evening.
"There are a lot of schools interested in Michael," said Lincoln Prep head coach Tom Livatino. "Bradley and Illinois have offered him a scholarship. Northwestern, Dayton, Bradley, Illinois State, Ball State and Creighton are just some of the schools that have been by to watch Michael practice or play.

"He has a ton of options right now," he added. "A bunch more high major programs have expressed an interest in Michael, I just don't remember all of them off the top of my head."
Thompson has clearly established himself as one of the truly best players in the state, and done so in a variety of ways. He is a complete player that has the ability to score the basketball or, more importantly, has the ability to get other teammates involved in the game.
"Michael is the type of player that does everything great," said Livatino. "He is averaging 18-points and seven assists per game. He really has a complete game. He can shoot the ball and does an outstanding job of distributing the basketball.
"Some people seem to think that Michael is just a great shooter, but that is not true," he added. "He can shoot the basketball, but he can also distribute the ball and sees the floor very well."
According to Livatino, Northwestern is at the top of Thompson's list at this time.
