Thomas Waiting to be Evaluated

The recruitment of Jason Thomas has slowed down to a trickle, since he was unable to play summer ball this past off season. Now the 6-foot-2, 185-pound point guard from powerhouse West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois can’t wait for the season to begin, hoping his recruitment will pick up the pace.
“There is not much going on right now,” Thomas said. “I’m just waiting for the season to begin. I didn’t get to play summer ball because I had a baby and had to work and go to summer school. I didn’t go because I was behind in my work, but to get ahead. Not playing this summer really hurt me.”

According to Thomas, before this summer’s evaluation period, he was hearing from all the Big Ten schools, Kentucky, Florida State, and Georgia Tech. Now, none of these schools are on his list, and Thomas is hearing from a different list of schools.
“I’m looking at Clemson, Miami, Florida State, and Georgia,” he said. “Those are the schools I am hearing from. I don’t have any offers or visits set up because they all are saying they need to see me play this year.”
Whoever does make it to see West Aurora play will have the pleasure of seeing one of the nation’s top high school teams. Joining Thomas on the squad are Seton Hall commitment Justin Cerasoli (No. 48 player in the Rivals150) and Illinois Commitment Shaun Pruitt (No. 66 player in the Rivals150).
“We will be really good,” Thomas said. “I just heard that someone ranked us number ten in the nation.”
Thomas carries a 3.2 GPA and scored a 20 on the ACT.
