Thomas Signs With Florida AM

It might have taken Jason Thomas longer than expected to make a decision about his future, but he has finally made a decision. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound point guard from West Aurora High School in Aurora, Ill., has signed a letter-of-intent to play basketball at Florida A&M. After officially visiting the campus back in April, Thomas knew that playing for the Rattlers was the best situation.
“I have already signed my letter-of-intent papers to play basketball at Florida A&M,” Thomas said. “I visited the campus in April and loved the coaching staff and players. Florida A&M plays an up and down style of basketball, which is the style I prefer. They really let the point guards run the floor and get out in the open court. I also like the way the coaching staff allows the guards to press the basketball.

“Another reason I chose to attend Florida A&M was the overall team atmosphere,” he added. “The coaches and players have a very tight relationship, which is important. When I was on my visit, a couple of the coaches and players were joking with each other and having a good time. That is the type of atmosphere that I am looking for.”
Early on in his recruitment, Thomas had shown an interest in Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and Miami-FL.
The Illinois native needed just one visit before making a decision about his future. After visiting Florida A&M, Thomas made it clear that his decision was very easy.
