Thomas Hoping For Productive Summer

Jason Thomas, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound point guard from West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois is being recruited by a handful of high major schools, but his recruitment isn’t moving along like he had hoped it would. The July evaluation period is just right around the corner, so Thomas knows his time to shine is nearing.
“My recruitment is going alright, but it’s not going as good as I hoped it would,” Thomas said. “I am hearing from Iowa, Kentucky, Georgia Tech and Seton Hall. I’ve unofficially visited Iowa and plan on taking all five official visits in the fall.

“I don’t have a leader right now and all the schools recruiting me are pretty much even,” he added, “I will say that location will not play a factor in my decision. I have no problem going away and leaving home for college.”
Thomas had started the summer playing AAU basketball with the Illinois Wolves, but decided it would be best if he left the team. Right now, he is in the process of preparing himself for some individual camps that he will attend.
“I don’t have an AAU team that I’m playing with at this time,” he said. “I had originally been playing with the Illinois Wolves, but I left the team. I will be in Colorado Springs next week for the USA Developmental Festival and I might attend the ABCD Camp in New Jersey, but I don’t know if that will take place.”
Thomas indicated that none of the teams recruiting him have offered scholarships as of yet. Each school plans to evaluate him in the month of July and then make a decision once the evaluation process is complete.
Rivals.com ranks Thomas as the 26th best point guard in the class of 2004 and the 129th best player overall.
