Thomas favoring ACC school

New Orleans, La., native Dannero Thomas has improved his game and his stock with an extra year of work at Mt. Zion (N.C.) Academy. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound senior small forward is now leaning towards heading back south and playing in the ACC.
"Miami is his leader," said Mt. Zion coach Antonio Fozzard. "They've offered him along with Virginia Tech. He's also getting interest from LSU, Texas, Boston College, Tulsa and Oral Roberts."

Averaging 14 points per game this year for his 18-6 team, Thomas continues to expand his game.
"Dannero is playing well for us this year," said Fozzard. "He is getting more aggressive off the dribble and not just relying on his jumper. He has always been a very good defender and an excellent rebounder.
"He's definitely becoming a better player. He still needs to keep working on his athleticism and his ball handling."
Coach Fozzard also noted that Thomas' first visit will be to Miami and should happen in a couple weeks.
Dannero Thomas scouting report:
Possessing an outside jumper that keeps the defense honest, Thomas' greatest gift is his nose for the ball. He hunts down rebounds, chases down loose balls and is a tough defender. His ball handling and passing have room for improvement.
